Getting ready for the grand adventure
How We Are Getting Ready
Trip planning is all a part of the adventure
I think planning, researching, and dreaming are all part of the fun of going on an adventure. Exploring the local history, attractions, monuments, and food to check out is almost just as exciting as being there. It’s like watching a TV show so you “know” what something is like, but then you get to see it in real life for a deeper and different experience, I feel things have changed just enough for me to dig in again (beside of recent events that started in 2020) to rediscover places I have already gone and the new places I get to explore.
I also use it as an excuse for buying new gadgets, clothing, and accessories for the trip, I haven’t done a “big trip” out of the country since 2017. I believe have all the bags and travel accessories I need, but there is always a piece of clothing or tech that I can seem to “need to get”.
Cruising, let alone river cruising, is a whole new experience for me that has me diving in and joining FB groups to glean info to apply for our upcoming adventure. Although we are traveling on a ship that caters to American tourists, we will be staying in Amsterdam for a couple of days and then in Pairs. So I am also doing research on how to power “all the things” for 2 people and making sure we are connected when needed.
If you have any planning tips, must see/do, or cruise advice, I would love to hear!
