Americans in Pairs

Even though our time will be limited, hoping to slow down and just obverse our surrounding

As Americans, when we go on “big vacations” we make a “must-to-do/see” list to be checked off. I have those too, but I also like to become a local, slow down, and just let moments happen. To find the local boulangerie for morning breakfast or an afternoon snack. Shop at the local supermarché (supermarket) and look at the local grocery items and try to translate and find items I might want.

The other thing I like to do when visiting another country is going to McDonald’s (no judgments please, lol). It is a global company and although you can still get a “Royale with Cheese” (aka Quarter Pounder), they usually offer a local item that is fun to see. Sometimes when you are traveling for long periods in foreign lands, sometimes something familiar like a McDonald’s Cheeseburger can be comforting. In fact, the last time I was in Paris in 2017, it was the first place I saw the ability to order via a digital kiosk. Sure enough, a few years later, they started showing up in the United States.
