Day 15 - Owens Racing is a dynasty.
Saturday, June 12, 2010
Saturday is Race Day with the Owens family in Tulsa, but first we stopped for Carters breakfast of choice... donuts. Scott, Carter and Chris left the house early to go grab donuts and get to the track early. The donuts were seriously great... Krispy Kreme should take note.

Carter's race class is called Can-Am I think. The next class up, besides being faster is also an open wheel car which is a lot more dangerous.

Scott explained that you do take pause when you are buying safty gear for your child with warning lables on it that state, "Your Child could die doing this activity".

Carter's biggest handicap is that he is the biggest driver in this class and since you aren't allowed to modify the cars at all, it all comes to power and weight and who can drive the best line around the track.

In this particular class, the first three positions get trophy's.

Scott said that one of the best parts about being in Oklahoma is that his children get to have a real relationship with their Great Grand Father. Scotts Grand Father came tot he race. It really was a family event.

Kaitlyn and her Great Grand Father.

Of course, Beth and I had to get our photo with the big racer!

Did we win!!!! I loved it but I am so glad I am NOT raising sons (or daughters) right now. It was scary. Just too scary. The car was so cute. Loved it, Carter! Such fun. Do you drive like your father or your mother?
He most certainly drives like his lead footed mother!
Wow, love it. What's in the future? Indy? NASCAR? Formula 1?
OK this is so much fun....you guys are hilarious. I just wish Route 66 came through Louisville...
Man... I wanna drive one of those!! Though, pretty sure I couldn't get my butt in that little driver's seat.
